SANNCE SE-N48PBE1-64BE-P review
A lower-resolution kit built around metal camera housings and an 8-channel recorder that accepts up to 5 MP. SANNCE states 3 MP cameras, H.264+ compression and a 1 TB drive, expandable to eight cameras.
The conclusion The kit to choose for metal housings and an upgradeable recorder, not for the picture. Read it as coverage.
Two things separate this kit from the 4K systems around it, and only one of
them is the price.
The housings
Metal, not plastic. On a wall within reach — a side passage, a yard, a
commercial frontage — that is the difference between a camera that survives a
knock and one that does not. It is rarely mentioned in listings and it is the
part of a camera most likely to be attacked.
The recorder outlives the cameras
SANNCE states the 8-channel recorder accepts up to 5 MP, where the supplied
cameras are 3 MP. That gap is deliberate and useful: cameras can be upgraded
on the same cables and the same recorder, which is not true of kits matched
exactly to their own hardware.
Where it gives ground
3 MP is the lowest resolution in this hub. It tells you somebody was there and
roughly what they did; it does not produce a description. And H.264+
compression is around half as efficient as the H.265+ used by the newer kits,
so the supplied 1 TB holds less than the number suggests.
How to read it
As coverage. Four areas watched at 3 MP answers “where did they go” far
better than one area watched at 4K, and for many houses that is the more
useful question.
Who it suits
An installation where housings get knocked, and where the recorder should
still be useful after the cameras have been replaced.

What reassures, and what does not
Strengths
Metal camera housings rather than plastic
Recorder accepts up to 5 MP, so cameras can be upgraded later
1 TB drive supplied, and 3 MP fills it far more slowly than 4K would
Expandable to eight cameras on the same recorder
Compromises
3 MP cameras, the lowest resolution in this hub
H.264+ rather than the more efficient H.265+
1 TB is a small drive even at this resolution
Detail at distance is limited — this is coverage, not identification

The questions we are asked
Is 3 MP enough?
For knowing that somebody was in a yard, easily. For describing them to a third party, no. The honest way to read this kit is as coverage rather than identification — and coverage of four areas at 3 MP is worth more than one area at 4K if what you want is to know where somebody went.
Why does the recorder accept 5 MP?
Because it lets the cameras be replaced without replacing the recorder. That is a real advantage over a kit whose recorder is matched exactly to its cameras: in three years, a 5 MP camera on the same cable is a simple upgrade.
H.264+ or H.265+ — does it matter?
H.265+ is roughly twice as efficient, which at the same drive size means roughly twice the retention. At 3 MP the difference is less painful than it would be at 4K, but it is the reason this kit's 1 TB does not go as far as it looks.

8MP · four 355° × 90° PT cameras · 15 m (49 ft) color night vision · auto-tracking · 8CH NVR
The only wired kit here whose cameras pan and tilt. ieGeek states 8 MP at 3840 × 2144, color night vision to 15 m (49 ft), AI detection with auto-tracking, and two-way audio, on an eight-channel PoE recorder.
Best for: A property with several approaches, where four fixed cameras would leave gaps that four moving ones do not.
4K 8MP · 8-channel NVR · 2 TB drive included · H.265+ · 30 m (98 ft) IR
An eight-channel 4K kit with the recorder and the drive in the box. Loocam states 8 MP cameras, H.265+ compression and a 2 TB drive already fitted, with person detection and push alerts.
Best for: A first wired system, where everything arriving in one box matters more than the last word in image processing.
4× 5MP domes · 8CH NVR with 2 TB · 18 m (59 ft) cables supplied · 24/7 recording
Four 5 MP dome cameras, an eight-channel recorder with a 2 TB drive, and 18-meter network cables in the box. Reolink states person and vehicle detection, continuous recording and compatibility with its 4, 5 and 8 MP cameras.
Best for: A house wanting a system that will still be supported and expandable in five years.
