HUXGO HXA-SB120 review
A siren for indoors and sheltered outdoors, with a strobe, connectable either wirelessly at 433 MHz to HUXGO panels or by wire on a normally-closed contact, with a 1000 mAh backup cell and tamper protection.
The conclusion The most flexible siren here because of the wired option. Tamper protection is the specification that earns its keep.
Most sirens in this category only talk to their own maker’s panel. This one
has a wire.
The NC contact is the useful feature
A normally-closed wired input connects it to almost any alarm panel with a
spare output, including older wired systems and other brands entirely. That
takes it out of the proprietary trap that makes siren shopping so frustrating,
and it is the reason to look at this one even if your hub is from somebody
else.
The wireless option, at 433 MHz and up to 80 m (262 ft), works with HUXGO panels only.
Tamper protection
A switch that fires the alarm when the cover is opened or the unit is prised
off the wall. The siren is the component that gets attacked, and tamper
protection means the attack is what triggers the system rather than what
silences it.
Any outdoor siren without it is missing the point.
The decibels, in context
115 dB with five levels, quoted at one meter as all such figures are. What
actually decides effectiveness is where it goes: high, visible, on an
elevation the neighbors can hear, and out of reach. A quieter siren mounted
properly beats a louder one mounted where somebody can reach it with a ladder
from the shed.
Who it suits
Any system with a spare NC output, and every HUXGO installation.

The questions we are asked
What does the wired NC option let me do?
Connect it to almost any alarm panel with a spare normally-closed output, including older wired systems from other makers. It is the escape hatch from proprietary radio, and it is the reason this siren is worth considering even if your panel is not a HUXGO.
Why does tamper protection matter?
Because the siren is the component an intruder attacks. A tamper switch fires the alarm when the cover is opened or the unit is prised from the wall, which turns an attempt to silence the system into the thing that triggers it.
Is 115 dB meaningfully different from 120?
Barely, and both figures are quoted at one meter. What decides whether a siren is effective is height, exposure and whether it can be reached — a 115 dB siren high on a gable does far more than a 120 dB one at head height round the side.
