Quoted battery life assumes a number of events per day, and says which · review
ieGeek ZS-GX3S review
ieGeek publishes an unusually specific runtime — three to six months per charge — alongside 2K capture, PIR detection and a siren with a white light. It works indoors or out, and it is 2.4 GHz only.
The conclusion The clearest runtime statement in this hub, and a sensible camera behind it. The 2.4 GHz limit is the only thing to check before ordering.
Most battery cameras quote a runtime that assumes a number of daily events
and then decline to say what that number is. ieGeek quotes a range — three to
six months — which at least admits the figure moves. The low end is a busy
position; the high end is a quiet one. That is the honest shape of the answer.
Detection is PIR, and that matters
The sensor reacts to moving warmth, not to changes in the picture. Practically
that means headlights sweeping the wall, branches in the wind and rain do not
wake it, which is the difference between a camera you keep and a camera you
mute after a week.
The corresponding weakness is worth knowing: PIR sensors are laid out in
zones fanning outward, so a person walking across the field crosses several
and triggers reliably, while a person walking straight at the camera may
cross only one. Mount it so the approach passes across it rather than
towards it.
Light, siren, and what they are for
The white light and the siren can fire automatically on detection or be
triggered by hand from the app. The light is also what makes color at night
possible: without it the image is infrared and monochrome, as always.
The one specification to check first
2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only. On a router that publishes both bands under one name,
this is the commonest reason a camera of this type never finishes setup.
Who it suits
A shed, a passage, an outbuilding, or a room with no socket where the camera
should be forgotten about for a season.

What reassures, and what does not
Strengths
Runtime published as a range — 3 to 6 months — rather than as a vague claim
PIR motion detection, which triggers on moving warmth rather than on changing pixels
Siren and white light that can fire automatically or be triggered by hand
Rated for indoor or outdoor use, so it can be moved as needs change
Compromises
2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only
The stated detection accuracy of 99% is a manufacturer claim and not a measurement
Color at night depends on the white light being on
A camera that is easy to move is also easy to take

The questions we are asked
Is a three-to-six-month range useful?
More useful than a single number, because the spread is the honest part: the low end is a busy position and the high end is a quiet one. It is one of the few listings in this hub that admits the figure depends on how often the camera is woken.
What does PIR detection change?
A PIR sensor reacts to moving warmth rather than to changes in the image, so headlights sweeping a wall and branches moving in wind do not trigger it. It has its own blind spot: someone walking straight towards the sensor crosses far fewer of its zones than someone walking across it, and may not trigger at all.
Can it be used indoors?
ieGeek lists it for both. Indoors it is a battery camera with no cable, which is convenient in a room with no socket in the right place — and it has no privacy shutter, which is worth knowing before putting it anywhere people sleep or change.
Our score

2K · BC solar cell · 360° PTZ · AI PIR detection · card to 128 GB · 2.4 GHz
COOAU states a back-contact solar cell with over 30% better charging efficiency than conventional panels, behind a 2K pan-and-tilt camera with AI-assisted PIR detection and local card storage to 128 GB.
Best for: A position with weak or intermittent sun, where charging efficiency matters more than peak output.
2K · battery · 2.4/5 GHz dual band · color night vision · free cloud clips
A dual-band battery camera at the price most single-band ones sell for. HITELLARCAM states 2K capture, color night vision, AI person detection and free cloud storage for clips alongside a card slot.
Best for: A first battery camera where the Wi-Fi at the far end of the property is the real problem.
2K 3MP · solar · 355° × 120° PTZ · color night vision to 15 m (49 ft) · card to 128 GB · IP65
A fully wireless solar pan-and-tilt camera with a 130° lens, 2K capture and color night vision stated to 15 m (49 ft). ieGeek supplies warning stickers with it, which is a small detail that says something about how it expects to be used.
Best for: A garden or driveway with sun, where the camera should also be seen to be there.
