Steinel XLED ONE S review
Steinel states 2,050 lumens from 18.6 watts at 3000 K, with a 180 degree infrared sensor reaching 12 meters (39 ft), and both the LED panel and the sensor swivelling through 180 degrees.
The conclusion The light for a house rather than a yard. Warm, well-specified, and, with the other Steinel, the one you would want above a front door.
Steinel makes motion sensors and has done for decades. It shows in two places
on this light, and neither is the lumen figure.
Two separate tilts
The LED panel and the sensor each tilt vertically through 180 degrees. That matters because they do not want the same angle: the beam aims at the ground of the approach, while the sensor has to look far enough out to see somebody coming. It is an adjustment of height, not direction: both face the same way off the wall.
On lights where both are fixed to one bracket, one of them sits at the wrong angle. Here each has its own.
Three thousand kelvin
Warm white, like the other Steinel in this hub, the XLED Home 2 S; the other lights that publish their color are neutral or cool. On a house wall it looks
like a light rather than like equipment, which is why it stays fitted and why
the neighbors do not object. A floodlight that gets disconnected after
complaints protects nothing at all.
The trade is honest: warm light renders less detail for a camera than neutral
light does. If a camera is watching the same area, the Philips is the better
partner.
A published detection figure
180 degrees, reliably to 12 meters (39 ft). Enough for a drive, a path or a patio from
a house wall, and not enough for a long approach. Steinel publishes it so the
decision is yours.
Who it suits
The front of a house, a porch, a terrace — anywhere the light is seen as well as
used.

Panel and sensor tilt separately, vertically, through 180°
Steinel is the specialist manufacturer in motion sensing
Compromises
2,050 lm is lower than the Philips at similar power
More expensive than the unbranded lights
Warm light shows less detail to a camera than neutral does

Because a light that is disconnected protects nothing. A 3000 K light on a house wall looks like part of the house rather than like industrial equipment, which means it stays fitted and the neighbors do not complain. That is a real security consideration, not an aesthetic one.
What do two separate tilts buy?
A tilt of its own for each. The beam aims at the ground of the approach; the sensor has to look far enough out to see somebody coming. Steinel tilts them separately, vertically, through 180°; they do face the same way, as nothing swivels horizontally.
Is 12 m (39 ft) enough?
For a house wall covering a drive, a path or a patio, comfortably. For a long approach, no — and Steinel publishes the figure so you can decide, which most makers here do not.

20 W · 10 m (33 ft) detection, adjustable sensitivity · Everlight SMD LEDs · tool-free spring terminals
Brennenstuhl states 2,300 lumens, a 10 meter (32.8 ft) detection range with adjustable sensitivity, named Everlight SMD emitters, and spring terminals that need no tools to wire.
Best for: Anybody wiring the light themselves — the tool-free terminals genuinely change the job.
20 W · 2,200 lm · 6500 K · IP66 · adjustable SENS, TIME and LUX
A 20 W motion floodlight at 2,200 lumens and 6500 K, rated IP66, with three separate adjustments: sensitivity, on-time and the ambient light level below which it will trigger.
Best for: A first security light where the three adjustment dials matter more than the brand.
