Balter ENTRI M vs EZVIZ CP7

Two monitors and an IK07 outdoor station, or one 2K panel that filters?

Balter publishes an impact rating for the part most exposed to blows, the street station, and supplies a monitor for each of two floors. EZVIZ answers with resolution, a wider lens, an RFID card for opening and detection that ignores anything that is not a person.

A tick marks the better answer on that line only. Counting ticks does not decide the page — the two verdicts below do, because these products answer different questions.

Which of the two, for which home

Balter ENTRI M

No amazon.com listing was found for this one. We hold references for other markets but none for the United States, so it may not be buyable here — which is the first thing to weigh against anything below.

Buy the ENTRI M for a two-story house and for the published ratings. A street-facing station at chest height gets struck, and IK07 speaks to that; against a pry bar under the edge of a surface-mounted station it says nothing.

EZVIZ CP7

No amazon.com listing was found for this one. We hold references for other markets but none for the United States, so it may not be buyable here — which is the first thing to weigh against anything below.

Buy the CP7 for the picture and the filtering. A wider, sharper view that ignores passing cars is what makes an intercom worth answering.

The questions we are asked

What is an IK rating?

A measure of impact resistance under EN 62262, as distinct from IP, which covers water and dust. IK07 means a 2-joule impact. On a street-facing outdoor station that can be struck, it is relevant; it says nothing, though, about resistance to a pry bar.

Do I need a second monitor?

On a two-story house it is what makes the intercom used rather than run downstairs for. It is also the difference between one person being able to answer the door and everybody being able to.

Does the door need an electric strike?

Yes, for opening from the monitor, the app or the RFID card to do anything. If there is none, one goes into the frame; wiring its power supply to the mains is a job for an electrician.
