Balter ENTRI L review
A complete single-family set with a flush-mounted outdoor station, a 150° Full HD camera, a 7-inch monitor and app access. Balter states IP54 and IK07 ratings and a tamper alarm on the outdoor unit.
The conclusion The one to specify while the wall is open. The IK07 rating and the tamper alarm are what set it apart.
Balter publishes two figures that almost no consumer intercom does, and both
describe the part of the system that actually gets attacked.
IK07, and why it is so rare
IP ratings describe water and dust. IK ratings describe impact. An outdoor
intercom station is at chest height, on a street, and it is the component
somebody levers or strikes — not the monitor inside. A published impact rating
is a statement about that, and it is unusual enough to be the reason to choose
this system.
The tamper alarm on the outdoor unit is the same thought carried further: the
system reports interference rather than simply suffering it.
Flush mounting, and when to want it
A flush station sits in the wall, which looks better and leaves no gap to work
a tool into. It also requires a recess to be cut, which is masonry work. On a
new or renovated entrance that is a decision made once, cheaply; on an
existing wall, a surface-mounted unit is the sensible answer and this is the
wrong model.
Where it is modest
Full HD rather than 2K, and IP54 rather than the IP66 of outdoor cameras. The
second matters: IP54 describes splashing water, so this station wants a porch
or an overhang rather than an exposed wall.
Who it suits
An entrance being built or rebuilt, where the wall is open and the outdoor
unit should be part of it.

What reassures, and what does not
Strengths
Flush-mounted outdoor station — neater, and much harder to lever off
IK07 impact rating stated alongside IP54, which most intercoms do not publish
IP54 is a lower ingress rating than the IP66 cameras elsewhere on this site
One monitor in this set — a second is an extra

The questions we are asked
What does IK07 mean?
It is an impact rating: the housing is stated to withstand a defined mechanical impact. Very few intercoms publish one, and on an outdoor station within reach of the street it describes something real — the outdoor unit is the part of an intercom that gets attacked, not the monitor.
Is flush mounting worth the work?
On an entrance being built or renovated, yes: it looks better and it removes the gap a lever can be worked into. On an existing wall it means cutting a recess, which is masonry work, and a surface-mounted unit is the sensible answer instead.
Is IP54 enough at a front door?
IP54 covers dust and splashing water, which describes a sheltered entrance. It is lower than the IP66 of the cameras elsewhere on this site, and it is a reason to prefer a porch or a recess with an overhang to an unprotected wall facing weather.

Surface-mounted outdoor unit · 150° Full HD · two 7-inch monitors · app · IP54 and IK07
The surface-mounted version of the ENTRI set, supplied with two 7-inch monitors. Same 150° Full HD camera, same IP54 and IK07 ratings, same tamper alarm — and no recess to cut.
Best for: An existing house with two floors, where cutting into the wall is not on the table.
7-inch master station · die-cast aluminum vandal-resistant door station · 24 V DC · 165 ft on 22AWG, 330 ft on 18AWG — the only cable run length on this shelf · 30 stored still images · expandable to 1×2 only · the page lists JV-series parts in its bullets and JO-series parts in its description
The only listing here that tells you how far the cable can run — on a page that names two different product families for the same box.
Best for: A long cable run to a gate, where the distance figure and die-cast construction justify seven hundred dollars
Audio only, NO screen · N/O dry contact rated 30 V AC/DC 1 A — the only door-release contact rating on this shelf · 2-conductor shielded wiring, with Aiphone #822202 (22AWG) or #821802 (18AWG) named · push-to-talk simplex · master station 7-1/16 × 5-5/8 × 2-1/8 in, door station 4-3/4 × 3-1/2 × 1-1/8 in
The only intercom on this shelf that tells you what its door-release contact is rated for — and the only one with no screen at all.
Best for: A gate or an entrance where the job is to speak and release, and a specified strike contact matters more than a picture
