TECKNET HHA01001WA01 indoor motion sensor alarm, 125 dB, 328 ft remote review

The only detector here that runs on USB-C indefinitely, and the only one that says what it does after the alarm starts.

The conclusion The one standalone siren here that can run on permanent power rather than cells — and TECKNET makes a point of saying USB-C will not recharge them, which is the misunderstanding every buyer would otherwise make. Three volume levels, a 360-degree body, a chime mode and the only published siren duration on the shelf. Read the headline carefully: 328 feet is the remote, and the detector sees 16 to 26.

What the maker puts in writing

  • 125dB siren with flashing strobe · 80dB, 100dB or 125dB volume levels
  • AAA battery for portable use or USB-C for continuous power. “USB-C provides power to the motion detector alarm and does not recharge the batteries.”
  • 16–26ft detection range, 120° coverage, rotates 360° · range varies with installation height, angle and environment
  • “In Alarm Mode, once triggered, the siren sounds continuously for 2 minutes before returning to standby.”
  • 2 modes: Alarm or Doorbell Chime · remote works up to 328ft in open areas, to arm, disarm, switch modes or trigger SOS
  • No Wi-Fi or app required

No pet immunity weight. No mounting height. No IP rating.

Three hundred and twenty-eight feet is the remote

Not the detection.

The detection range is sixteen to twenty-six feet, in a different bullet.

Two other products on this shelf lead with 328 and 300 feet, and in both cases it is a radio distance to a receiver.

None of the three sees down a driveway. The longest detection range on this shelf is forty feet claimed, and thirty-two feet stated plainly.

USB-C, which solves the real problem

A battery siren in a garage fails silently.

This is the only standalone siren here that can be left on permanent power, which removes the one maintenance task these products have.

And TECKNET then says the thing a buyer would otherwise assume wrongly: USB-C powers the unit and does not recharge the cells.

Cable for a workshop. AAA cells for a van. Not both working together.

Two minutes, then standby

The only after-the-alarm statement on this shelf.

Two minutes of a hundred and twenty-five decibels moves an opportunist, and is short enough that a false trigger at three in the morning does not ruin a street.

It also means someone who waits it out gets silence.

The contact alarms elsewhere on this site that run until the opening closes do not leave that gap. For a garage, the trade is reasonable.

Eighty, a hundred, or a hundred and twenty-five

Which makes one unit serve three rooms.

A hundred and twenty-five decibels in a hallway is intolerable. Eighty is a doorbell.

One of two detectors here with a volume choice.

What reassures, and what does not

Strengths

  • USB-C continuous power, which no other siren here offers
  • TECKNET states that USB-C does not recharge the cells
  • Three volume levels: 80, 100 or 125 dB
  • A two-minute siren duration published
  • The body rotates 360° for aiming
  • A chime mode as well as an alarm mode

Compromises

  • 16–26 ft is among the shortest detection ranges on this shelf

  • No pet immunity weight
  • The 328 ft figure is the remote's range, not detection
  • No app and no phone alert
  • Primarily indoor, with no IP rating

Specifications

DetectionApproximately 16–26 ft over a 120° field of view — stated, with the caveat that range varies with installation height, angle and environment. The body rotates 360° so the field can be aimed down a hallway without moving the mount
VolumeThree levels — 80 dB, 100 dB or 125 dB — with a flashing strobe. It is one of only two detectors here with selectable volume, and 125 dB is the loudest on this shelf
TriggerIn Alarm Mode the siren sounds continuously for 2 minutes and then returns to standby — stated. It is the ONLY statement on this shelf of what happens after the alarm starts, and it is also the limitation: two minutes can be waited out, where a contact alarm elsewhere on this site runs until the opening closes
PowerAAA cells for portable use OR USB-C for continuous indoor power — and TECKNET states plainly that USB-C powers the unit and does NOT recharge the cells. It is the only mains-capable standalone siren on this shelf, and the only one that heads off that misunderstanding
ModesTwo: Alarm Mode for security and Doorbell Chime Mode for visitor or motion alerts — stated, switchable from the remote
RemoteIncluded, working up to 328 ft in open areas, to arm, disarm, switch modes or trigger an SOS alarm without approaching the unit. NOTE: 328 ft is the REMOTE'S range, not the detection range, which is 16–26 ft
MountingAdhesive pad or screws, or stood on a flat surface, or used inside a vehicle — stated. Primarily for indoor use
Pet immunityNot published as a weight. TECKNET states PIR sensing with intelligent signal analysis to distinguish human movement from environmental interference, which is an adjective where this shelf asks for a figure
SystemNo Wi-Fi, no app, no hub and no phone alert — stated. Everything happens at the unit and on the remote

The questions we are asked

Is 328 feet the detection range?

No, and this is the most important thing to understand about three listings on this shelf. The 328 feet is how far the remote control works in open air. The detection range is 16 to 26 feet, stated in a different bullet. Two other products here lead with a similar figure — 328 feet and 300 feet — and in both cases it is a radio distance to a receiver, not a sensing distance. If you want a detector that sees down a driveway, none of them do: the longest detection range on this shelf is 40 feet claimed, and 32 feet stated plainly.

Why does USB-C matter on a motion alarm?

Because a battery siren in a garage is a device that fails silently. TECKNET is the only standalone siren on this shelf that can be left on permanent power, which removes the one maintenance task these products actually have — and it then does something unusually honest by stating that USB-C powers the unit and does not recharge the cells, which is exactly the assumption a buyer would otherwise make. Fit it with the cable for a workshop, or with AAA cells for a van, and do not expect the cable to top anything up.

Two minutes, then what?

Standby, and a second crossing starts it again. That is the only after-the-alarm behavior anybody on this shelf publishes, and it is worth knowing both ways: two minutes of 125 dB is enough to move an opportunist and short enough that a neighbor will not complain about a false trigger at three in the morning. It also means someone who waits out the noise gets silence — the contact alarms elsewhere on this site that run until the opening closes do not have that gap. For a garage or a storeroom the trade is reasonable.

Against the rest of the motion detectors

TECKNET HHA01001WA01 indoor motion sensor alarm, 125 dB, 328 ft remote $25 Approximately 16–26 ft over a 120° field of view — stated, with the caveat that range varies with installation height, angle and environment. TECKNET states PIR sensing with intelligent signal analysis to distinguish human movement from environmental interference, which is an adjective where this shelf asks for a figure
BESTOONE MSA-21 motion sensor alarm, 2 sensors and 1 receiver $25 About 20 ft of infrared detection distance — stated, and stated in the SAME bullet as the 300 ft radio range and distinguished from it. That is the clearest handling of the two figures on this shelf, where three listings lead with a radio distance and one publishes no detection range at allNot published, in any form. No weight, no sensitivity and no mention of animals
CPVAN CP2 Pro motion sensor alarm, 125 dB, 328 ft remote $25 Up to 40 ft, with best performance typically within 10–26 ft — stated, and that qualification is the most useful sentence on this shelf. A PIR's rated maximum is a laboratory figure for a warm body crossing the field; the working range is always shorter, and CPVAN is the only listing here that publishes both numbersNot published as a weight. CPVAN states PIR sensing that helps identify human movement and reduce unwanted triggers, which is an adjective
eufy Security T8910021 motion sensor, 100° × 30 ft $25 100° field of view up to 30 ft — stated as more than enough to secure an entire room. Thirty feet is the longest range among the app-based sensors on this shelf, and a hundred degrees is the narrowest angle published on this shelf, against the hundred and ten of the wired panel detector here and two others at a hundred and twentyNOT published as a weight. eufy states adjustable sensitivity so that it only alerts when humans are in range rather than a playful pet dog or cat — which is a setting, not a limit. This shelf's introduction and this shelf's tag both say pet immunity is a stated weight, and only at least one of the thirteen detectors here gives one
