Balter

Intercoms that publish their impact rating, IK07, on the street panel

Two Balter sets appear here, and both publish a figure that only the Goliath AV-BLS-07A also publishes in the intercom hub.

IK07

IP ratings describe water and dust. IK ratings describe impact — and an outdoor intercom station is at chest height on a street, which makes it the component somebody levers or strikes rather than the monitor inside.

A published impact rating is a statement about that specific reality, and it is unusual enough to be the reason to choose these sets. The tamper alarm on the outdoor unit carries the same thought further: the system reports interference rather than merely suffering it.

Flush or surface

The ENTRI L is flush mounted, which looks better and leaves no gap for a lever; the ENTRI M is surface mounted and needs no recess cut into the wall.

Choose on the wall, not on the product. The ENTRI M costs more, but it avoids cutting a recess into masonry and ships two monitors; in an existing house it is often the simpler one to fit.

The rating to respect

IP54 covers splashing water rather than jets. These stations want a porch or an overhang, and an intercom that is sheltered lasts far longer whatever it is rated for.
