Two X-Sense products appear here, and the leak detector fills a specific gap in the catalog.
The leak detector
Every other water alarm in this catalog makes a noise in the room it is in. If nobody is home, that noise is a tree falling in a forest — and an empty house is exactly where a leak does its worst work.
The SWS54 sends a push notification. In a holiday home, a second property, or any house whose occupants work away, that is the difference between an hour of water and a weekend of it, and a weekend of it is a floor, a ceiling and a kitchen.
It also has six sensing points, four low and two higher, and X-Sense states detection from 0.4 mm of water, an IP66 housing and an alarm of up to 110 dB on both the sensor and the base. The listing does not say exactly what the upper points are for.
The alarm kit
The AS12 includes a physical keypad. An alarm controlled only by an app is controlled only by the people with the app, and a household where a cleaner, a visitor or an older relative cannot disarm it is a household that stops arming it. The other kits in this hub answer that too, with a screen panel and remotes (HUXGO), RFID tags (Tugard) or an RFID keypad (Goliath); the AS12 does it with a keypad.
The honest caveat on the leak sensor
A notification is worth what you can do with it. If you are two hundred kilometers away, you need a neighbor with a key and a stopcock. Arrange that before relying on the sensor.
